LUXURY BATHROOM DESIGN - BATHING IN SYMMETRY
When it comes to reimagining spaces, Kitchen & Bath Concepts of Pittsburgh excels in creating designs that seamlessly blend beauty and functionality. In this recent primary bathroom renovation, the KBC team transformed a standard cream-tiled room typical of early 2000s suburban homes into a sophisticated, spa-like retreat. The design celebrates transitional symmetry, offering the homeowners a serene space to start and end their days in effortless style.
This remodel exemplifies KBC's dedication to crafting personalized spaces that not only reflect the homeowners' tastes but also elevate their daily routines.
The redesign began with addressing the room’s traditional features, including an arched window, peaked ceiling, and outdated built-in tub. To modernize the space, the design introduced chevron-patterned porcelain tiles in a mid-tone gray that anchored the room while naturally drawing the eye to the freestanding tub and symmetrical vanities.
The ceiling was reimagined, with a recessed tray feature adding volume and visual interest. Motorized blinds were installed to stop just below the arched window, giving the illusion of a clean, rectangular shape that complemented the sleek design.
LED toe-kick lighting and recessed ceiling lights added a soft glow, further enhancing the light and airy feel of the space.
Every detail was customized to the homeowners' needs, from vanities set at 39 inches to accommodate their height, to a 21-inch shower bench for added comfort. The main showerhead was also raised to 90 inches, making the space both functional and luxurious. A floating makeup vanity and open shelving blended form and function, creating convenient storage while maintaining the room’s minimalist aesthetic.
To unify the space, Carrera marble-patterned porcelain tiles were used throughout the shower, behind the freestanding tub, and around the toilet enclosure. Matte black fixtures and natural wood accents added contrast and texture, while the organic color palette created a serene, spa-like atmosphere.
The result is a space designed to enhance daily routines with thoughtful features like a steam shower for recovery after workouts and a relaxing tub area to unwind at the end of a long day. With a focus on both form and functionality, this bathroom remodel delivers the ultimate retreat in the comfort of home.
